Insurance Reimbursement for Medical Wigs
At Lady Nia’s Designer Wigs, we understand that hair loss due to chemotherapy or alopecia can be a deeply personal and emotional experience. We want to support you in every way we can, including helping you navigate insurance reimbursement for your medical wig.

Did You Know?
Many health insurance providers consider wigs for chemotherapy or alopecia patients as cranial prosthetics, and they may cover the cost or reimburse you after purchase.
How It Works?
-
Step 01
Get a Prescription
Ask your doctor to write a prescription for a cranial prosthesis (medical wig) due to hair loss from chemotherapy or alopecia.
-
Step 02
Purchase Your Wig
Order your wig from Lady Nia’s Designer Wigs. Be sure to choose the wig that best meets your needs.
-
Step 03
Submit to Insurance
We’ll provide you with a detailed receipt for your purchase. Submit both the receipt and your doctor’s prescription to your health insurance provider for reimbursement.

Tips:
- Use the term “cranial prosthesis” when speaking to your insurance provider.
- Contact your insurance provider before purchase to ask about coverage limits or documentation needed.
- Save a copy of all paperwork for your records.
